The International Festival “Ohrid Waves” is a non-competitive sample of traditional and modern dances and music performed by folkloric groups. On the festival may participate children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups and choirs, as well as groups and performers from other art styles. The age of participants is not limited.
The festival will be held in Ohrid which is a cultural, spiritual, and tourist center. Together with Lake Ohrid has been named a world cultural and natural heritage listed city under the protection of UNESCO since 1980. Feel Ohrid for once in your life and you already know why you will return and why it simply cannot be retold.
The groups will be accommodated in 3*/4* Hotels in Ohrid on a Full Board Basis with 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have only 2 double rooms which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers. On 25 participants, every 26th participant is free of charge.
Extra charges for: Double Room: 6 euro/person/day | Single Room: 35 euro/day | Extra night: 37€ /per person for half board basis & 42€ per person for full board basis
The festival organizers will organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from Ohrid Airport, and back to the same airport. The cost of the transportation will be covered by the group and will be additionally agreed upon according to their number. You can also arrive through Skopje, Tirana, or Thessaloniki Airport which are only 200 km from Ohrid.
The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city.
Participation fee can be paid via bank transfer or in cash on the day of arrival. Each participant group should pay 30% with the initial application to confirm. The second payment of 40% should be paid 60 days before the Festival, and 30% should be paid 10 days before the official start of the fesitval. Final list of participants must be given 30 days before the Festival. After that date advance payment is not refunded.

Ohrid Roman Amphiteater - Build around 200 BC, just over 2000 years old. Today is used during the Ohrid Summer Festival for performances of ancient tragedies and comedies.
Samuil’s Fortress - dated from 4th century B.C., Samuel’s fortress consumes the city’s skyline with walls 3 km long and 16 meters high. With its strategic location, overlooking the town and the lake, it provides an ideal place for taking in the whole panorama of Ohrid and its surroundings.
St. Pantelejmon (Plaosnik) – dedicated to St. Climent and St. Pantelejmon it stands next to the ruins of the original St Clement´s monastery school at Plaosnik.
St. John Kaneo – it is not certain when it was built and fresco painted. St. John Kaneo church is most known for its scenic location, standing on a cliff over Lake Ohrid.
Lake Ohrid – one of Europe’s deepest and according to most experts the oldest lake in Europe. The importance of the lake was further emphasized when it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1979.
St. Naum Monastery – one of the most beautiful monasteries in Macedonia and an important pilgrimage place founded in the 910 by St.Naum. Among the local people there is a belief that the place is holy and sacred and that the ghost of St. Naum helps couples who have problems with having their own children.
Vevcani (Vevchani) is one of the most authentic and naturally beautiful villages in Macedonia. It’s situated in the southwestern part of Macedonia, in a valley on Jablanica Mountain 800 metres above sea level.
By visiting Bitola, you will have the opportunity to visit Heraclea Lyncestis with the beautiful well-preserved floor mosaics, fine examples of the early Christian Art period, you will enjoy the mixture of Ottoman, neoclassical 19th century romantic architecture.
Finally, don’t miss out Bitola as it is honored for its café culture, the pedestrian Shirok Sokak lined with nice colorful romantic and neoclassical buildings almost of all of them housing a café is the place to see and be seen!

The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city. Any expense caused by the usage of the bus (accident, robbing, breakdown, etc) should be covered by the vehicle’s insurance. Each member must have travel insurance policy.
