Known as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Ohrid is celebrated for its beautiful Lake Ohrid, ancient monuments, and breathtaking landscapes. This picturesque city is a perfect destination for artists to perform, relax, and explore. Ohrid’s stunning cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and historical landmarks offer a unique backdrop for the festival, while its welcoming atmosphere ensures an unforgettable experience for both participants and visitors alike.
The International Ohrid Waves Festival is a non-competitive celebration of traditional and modern dance and music, inviting performers from all over the world to showcase their talents. The festival is open to children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, vocal and instrumental groups, choirs, and performers from other art styles, with a minimum of 10 participants on stage. There is no age limit for participants, allowing all ages to come together to share their passion for music and performance.
Each group will participate in two concert performances and a defile, with performance durations based on the number of participants.
Participants will stay in 3 or 4 hotels** in Ohrid, with Full Board accommodation, which includes three buffet meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The hotels are ideally located near the festival venues, providing easy access for performances and leisure.
Accommodation will be provided in rooms with 3 or 4 beds, each with its own private bathroom. Each group will receive two double rooms free of charge for the leaders and drivers.

Additionally, for every 25 participants, the 26th participant stays free.
Transfers:
The festival organizers will arrange airport transfers for groups arriving by plane, including transport to and from Ohrid Airport. Alternatively, groups can arrive through Skopje, Tirana, or Thessaloniki airports, which are all within 200 km of Ohrid. The cost of this service will depend on the number of participants and will be agreed upon separately.
Bus Parking:
Groups arriving by bus can use their own transport during the festival and for local journeys around Ohrid. The cost of bus parking is the responsibility of the group and is determined by the parking facility.
Payment Details:
The final participant list must be submitted 30 days before the festival start date. Deposits are non-refundable after this date.

Ohrid Roman Amphiteater - Build around 200 BC, just over 2000 years old. Today is used during the Ohrid Summer Festival for performances of ancient tragedies and comedies.
Samuil’s Fortress - dated from 4th century B.C., Samuel’s fortress consumes the city’s skyline with walls 3 km long and 16 meters high. With its strategic location, overlooking the town and the lake, it provides an ideal place for taking in the whole panorama of Ohrid and its surroundings.
St. Pantelejmon (Plaosnik) – dedicated to St. Climent and St. Pantelejmon it stands next to the ruins of the original St Clement´s monastery school at Plaosnik.
St. John Kaneo – it is not certain when it was built and fresco painted. St. John Kaneo church is most known for its scenic location, standing on a cliff over Lake Ohrid.
Lake Ohrid – one of Europe’s deepest and according to most experts the oldest lake in Europe. The importance of the lake was further emphasized when it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1979.
St. Naum Monastery – one of the most beautiful monasteries in Macedonia and an important pilgrimage place founded in the 910 by St.Naum. Among the local people there is a belief that the place is holy and sacred and that the ghost of St. Naum helps couples who have problems with having their own children.
Vevcani (Vevchani) is one of the most authentic and naturally beautiful villages in Macedonia. It’s situated in the southwestern part of Macedonia, in a valley on Jablanica Mountain 800 metres above sea level.
By visiting Bitola, you will have the opportunity to visit Heraclea Lyncestis with the beautiful well-preserved floor mosaics, fine examples of the early Christian Art period, you will enjoy the mixture of Ottoman, neoclassical 19th century romantic architecture.
Finally, don’t miss out Bitola as it is honored for its café culture, the pedestrian Shirok Sokak lined with nice colorful romantic and neoclassical buildings almost of all of them housing a café is the place to see and be seen!

The groups should pay the travel expenses by themselves to Ohrid and back.
The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city. Any expense caused by the usage of the bus (accident, robbing, breakdown, etc) should be covered by the vehicle’s insurance. Each member must have travel insurance policy.
Free Parking
The festival organizers will organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from Ohrid Airport, and back to the same airport. The cost of the transportation will be covered by the group and will be additionally agreed according to their number. You can also arrive through Skopje, Tirana or Thessaloniki Airport which are only 200 km from Ohrid.
